About TriStateIUG
Tri-State Innovative Users Group
This group is an organization of member libraries who use the Innovative Interfaces, Inc. integrated library software. Member libraries are academic, public, and special libraries located in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
Co-founded by Adelphi University and Dowling College, our group's goal is to provide a forum where Innovative users in the tri-state area can share information and ideas, ask questions, learn from one another, and present projects and other accomplishments for the benefit of other users.
In light of this goal stated above, our group has decided that instead of focusing on by-laws (which we don't have) and dues (which we don't charge), our group would focus on enhancing the abilities of our members to share information.
At our inaugural meeting all members agreed to share some basic information about our institutions, including :
Member institutions are free to contact other members to ask questions and discuss modifications and other possibilities to enhance our systems.
Presentations and demonstrations conducted at our meetings will be posted on this website for all viewers to examine. Feel free to contact our group if you are interested in being part of our information sharing organization.
Our inaugural meeting was in January 2004 at Adelphi University, where all members agreed to share some basic information about our institutions and we set our philosophy for the direction of the organization and what we wanted to accomplish at future meetings.
Our second meeting was held in August 2004 at the Brooklyn Public Library and focused on the Interlibrary Loan functionality of the Millennium Circulation Module , including a presentation by the Interlibrary Loan Librarian from Dowling College.
